Saving Lives and Making Life Better through Well-Being Solutions

GOJO is a family-owned company based in Akron, Ohio. For almost 70 years GOJO, maker and inventor of PURELL® Advanced Instant Hand Sanitizer, has focused on the betterment of the lives we touch. It's our focus on the well-being of people that inspired us to invent a new waterless approach to hand sanitization in 1988 -- and PURELL, America's #1 Instant Hand Sanitizer was born.

The GOJO Purpose - Saving Lives and Making Life Better Through Well-Being Solutions - drives our organization's commitment to integrating sustainability into everything we do, including our policies, products and our daily ways of working.

At GOJO we're trying to change the mindset, sustainability is not just about reducing, it is about creating value for all of the lives our business touches. It's about making decisions that are good for life, good for business and the ecosystem.

Goals and Metrics

In 2010, GOJO publicly announced a set of ambitious five-year sustainability goals to reduce our production impacts. This commitment included targets to reduce the water we use, the solid waste we generate and the greenhouse gases we emit.

By the end of 2013, we were proud to have exceeded our goals two years early! View our latest results

Our Goal is to bring well-being to one billion people everyday through hygiene and skin care

GOJO combines a great passion for our Purpose, with scientific exploration and discovery in hygiene and skin care. This leads to positive outcomes that make a difference in people's life.

Some examples of challenges to health and well-being that GOJO solutions address include Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI), Occupational Contact Dermatitis, and School Absenteeism.

Successfully addressing social well-being challenges often requires diverse perspectives. In partnership with GOJO team members, customers, suppliers, thought leaders and community organizations, we find common ground and create win-win situations to advance social well-being.
